7 Commissioning and operation

Life parts are dangerous.
Do not open any covers or flange sockets during operation.

Never connect or disconnect plug connectors under load!

Do not enter the range of movement of the machine. Avoid uninten-

ded access for persons, due to
Safety fences, safety screens or protective covers.

CAUTION
Do not touch hot motor surfaces.

Install protection against contact, if necessary.

Make sure that no temperature-sensitive components (cables, elec-

tronic components, ...) touch hot surfaces.

7.1 Commissioning

MS2N Motors can only be commissioned with other components (drive control-
ler, control unit).
Prior to commissioning
Prior to commissioning, ensure that the following requirements are met.
Storage time of the motor. Depending on the storage time, take measures to
●
ensure safe operation. Run in bearings, resurface the holding brake, ... See
chapter 5.5 "Bearing" on page
Ensure that all device connector are correctly connected and protected
●
against coming loose.
Ensure that a holding brake voltage of 24 V ±10% is applied to the motor. If
●
necessary, adjust the voltage.
Commissioning and operation
High electric voltage! Danger to life, risk of in-
jury by electric shock.
Risk of injury due to rotating motor shaft!
Thermal danger due to hot surfaces with tem-
peratures over 60 °C during operation
