Study Type Selection
The system lists study type abbreviations in the Patient Registration form.
The study type you select determines the exam type used during the
examination. You cannot change the study type during an examination, but
you can begin a new study.
Note: You can optimize an image during the examination using the Exam drop-down
menu on the mode-specific Parameter menu.
To select a study type during registration:
Select the required study type from the Study field in the EXAM
section of the Patient Registration form.
To begin a new study (during the examination):
1. Press the Patient key located on the keyboard, or select the
Patient Registration shortcut button at the bottom of the screen.
The system displays the Patient Registration form, containing data for
the current patient examination.
2. Select New Study at the top of the form.
3. As necessary, update entries in the Study and Transducer fields of the
form and then select OK in the Patient Registration form to begin a
new study.
The system ends the study in progress, begins the new study, and
displays the Image task card.
Transducer Selection
Use the Transducer field in the EXAM section of the Patient Registration
form to select the transducer. If a transducer is not selected, the system
activates the default transducer for the selected study type if it is connected
to the system. The name of the selected transducer displays on the
mode-specific Parameter menu.
Note: You can select a transducer during the patient examination using the Transducer
drop-down menu on the mode-specific Parameter menu.
