Auto zero
Electrically adjusts absorbance to zero, thereby canceling a rise
of the baseline. Generally activated just before or after start.
Grating
An optical device for dispersing incident beam according to
differences in wavelength.
Output range
Determines the amplitude of a signal to be output to an external
system such as data processor.
Slit
A device for restricting the passage of beam so that the
necessary component alone can pass through it.
Instrument parameters
Parameters which determine the operating conditions of the
instrument.
Diode array detector (DAD)
A detector for HPLC in which photo diode array is used.
Default
Initial settings where no setting item is changed.
Wavelength check
Checks the accuracy of wavelength using the bright lines
including the light of Hg lamp and D2 lamp.
Validation
Verify if the instrument operates properly in performing the
intended operation.
Filter
An optical device that passes the beam within the necessary
wavelength region.
Photo diode array
A detector in which semiconductor detecting devices are
arranged in line.
Full scale
Determines the magnitude of output to an external system such
as data processor.
