Program *63-2 Overview
The DK40 system will offer a system wide "inter Digit Pause" time-out facility. The DK40
will start the outgoing call setup process when this timer expires. Once the DKT/EKT/2 wire
extension has dialled a valid trunk access code, the "time-out" is started. After every dialled
digit the timer is restarted. If no digit is received from the extension and time-out expires, the
system considers the number dialled as complete and will start to route the call. Any further
digits received from the extension are ignored until a "connect" message is received from the
local exchange.

A very short time-out will require users to enter the dialled number very quickly and
delays by the user may result in calls failing due to "insufficient routing
information". A long time-out will increase outgoing call setup times.
