DK40 Installation This chapter explains how to install the Strata DK40 system. It includes information on site requirements, wiring diagrams, and step-by-step instructions on how to install the unit(s), the ground wiring, AC power cabling, reserve power (battery backup) cabling, and PCB cabling.
Consider the following conditions when selecting a location for the KSU(s): The location must be: Dry and clean Well ventilated Well illuminated Easily accessible Strata DK40 I&M Manual Spring 1999 Refer to the Strata DK40 Programming Manual or DK Library CD-Rom for more details.
Subject to excessive vibration Next to television, radio, office automation, or high frequency equipment If reserve power is to be installed for the Strata DK40, the batteries will require a well- ventilated location close (within nine feet) to the DKSUB40 (the optional Toshiba-supplied battery cable is nine feet in length).
9 CCS per station system-wide AC Power and Earthing Requirements The Strata DK40 requires an earth connection back to the main distribution point for proper operation and safety. Failure to provide this earth may be a safety hazzard or lead to confusing fault, or operational symptoms and,in extreme cases, system failure.
PBX or are in close proximity to the local exchange the PAD position may be required. TBSU: Set the TBSU PAD switches to the appropriate position for NT or TE operation. (See Figure 2-21). TPSU16 Circuit Breaker Reset Procedure Case 1 If the AC and DC LEDs on the TPSU16 power supply in the Strata DK40 Base KSU do not light, even though the AC power plug is inserted into the wall outlet and the TPSU16 DC power switch is turned on, the AC overvoltage circuit breaker may have opened.
Finish securing the unit to the mounting surface by completely screwing the bottom two screws into the wall. Earth the system according to “AC Power and Earthing Requirements” on Page 2-4. Figure 7-1 shows an example of how a typical ACD call is handled. The Strata DK40 System provides many ACD functions and custom keys on for Toshiba DKT2000-series telephones. For instance, the ACD Supervisor can monitor calls and assist Agents through use of an LCD telephone, programmed especially for the Supervisor which shows ACD Agent and Group information.
Announcements/music patterns are played and sent to callers at programmed time intervals while calls are waiting in an ACD queue. Announcement and music devices are connected to Strata DK40 station ports and are assigned to ACD Groups in Program 14-3 in the Strata DK40 Programming Manual.

When an ACD Group is placed in the After Shift mode, calls are not sent to the ACD Group’s queue or Agents, but are routed to the After Shift destination set in Program 14-6. The After Shift operation for each possible case is described below (also see Strata DK40 Programming Manual, Flowchart 6-5): If the After Shift destination is idle, all line types ring the idle destination.
If the RNA destination is another ACD Group (not the same one), the call will ring an available Agent. If all Agents are busy the call will join the queue for the ACD Group. Strata DK40 I&M Manual Spring 1999 Refer to the Strata DK40 Programming Manual or DK Library CD-Rom for more details.
