Installation of this unit

Installing in the rack

Attach the M5 cage nuts.
≥ Attach the M5 cage nuts to the square holes on the
panel mount frames on the interface side of the
topmost module (positions 5U away from the support
angles).
Equivalent to 5U

Have workers on both sides of this unit hold
this unit and place it on the support angles of
the rack.
≥ For more information on the part to hold the module,
please refer to "The part to hold when moving the unit"
(
16).
≥ Depending on the system configuration or installation
location, this step must be performed with both hands
at an elevated height. Ensure that the work area is
safe and be careful not to stumble over objects or fall
from the area.

Insert the unit all the way into the rack until the
mounting brackets touch the panel mount
frame.
≥ Press
lightly and insert the unit further into the back of

the rack along the right panel mount frame.
Bottom Module
≥ When inserting into the rack, do not hold this unit by
the top surface.
≥ When inserting into the rack, do not press the panel
part of this unit.

For the Base Module or Extension Module
Secure the metal fastenings for positioning at
two locations.
≥ Insert the pins of the metal fastenings for positioning
into the elongated holes on the rear and front sides.
Adjust their positions so that they reach the holes on
the module below, and rotate the thumbscrews to
fasten them.
≥ After lightly fastening the two thumbscrews to determine
the position of the module, tighten securely.
≥ Rotate the thumbscrew while pushing it.
≥ After fastening the thumbscrews, if the metal parts are
lifted above the bottom surface of the Base Module, re-
adjust the position so that the screws go through all
the way.
