2.2. START-UP

2.2.1. STARTING THE SOFTENERS: COLD WATER PART

2.2.1.1. AIR VENT

WARNING:
During the first start-up, the 'ERROR' message may be displayed, in this case the timers will automatically
search for the service position and the message will appear when the system is in phase.
A- Put 10 litres of untreated water ONLY in each of the three 'brine salt' vats before the first start-up.
B- Check the correct tightness of the connection tube fittings to the salt vats as indicated in the instructions.
1. Press and hold the RIGEN button for 5 seconds.
The timer will display a flashing hourglass, indicating that the motor is turning the camshaft in cycle
position C1 (backwash). The timer will show the total time for the
remaining regeneration. If the SET button kept pressed, the timer will indicate the time
remaining for the current cycle.
A. While the timer is in cycle C1 (backwash), very slowly open the water supply valve about a 1/4
turn.
B. When all the air has been expelled from the tank (the water will start to flow continually out of the
drain line), open the main inlet valve completely.
C. Let the water flow to the drain for at least 5 minutes
D. Repeat the procedure on the second column in C6.

2.2.1.2. CHECK THE BRINE EXTRACTION

2. Extract the water from the regenerant tank
A. From the treated water position (C0 cycle), move the valve to the extraction position of the
regenerant C2.
B. Press and hold the RIGEN button for five seconds. The timer will start a manual regeneration and
will move the control valve to the C1 cycle (backwash). Press the SET and UP keys to move to
the C2 cycle (extraction). Press them repeatedly in succession up to phase C8 and wait at least
3 minutes in this phase.
C. B. With the timer in this position, check that the water in the regenerant tank has been extracted
from the vat. The water level should drop very slowly.
D. C. Check that the water is extracted from the regenerant vat for at least three minutes. If the water
level does not drop or if it rises, please refer to the Troubleshooting section.
3. If the water level is dropping in the regenerant tank, the timer can be reset to the treated water position
(C0) by simultaneously pressing the SET and UP buttons to move the timer to the C0 position.
4. Lastly, open a valve connected downstream from the softener. Let the water flow out of the valve until it
runs clear.

2.2.1.3. TURBINE VALVE 255

If the valve symbol is not displayed during input, check the water meter unit.
First of all, gently remove the impulse sensor from the housing behind the valve on the outlet pipe by pulling it
upwards and reinsert it all the way until you hear a distinct click. Try supplying water to the service and if the fault
persists, check the input wiring on the control board by removing and reinserting it. If the problem has not been
solved after these external checks, carry out the mechanical check:
