9.3 Configuration procedure
Display of the SIMATIC Drive Controller
When you add a SIMATIC Drive Controller to the project, by default:
• A "Drive Controller_n" group is generated
• Two devices are added to the group, for example:
– PLC_n [CPU 1504D TF] and
– Integrated_n [S120, CPU 150xD]

SINAMICS Integrated is only created if the following conditions are met:
• Startdrive is installed
• The option "Create including SINAMICS Integrated (Requirement: Startdrive is installed)" is
activated, in the "Options" menu under "Settings" > "Hardware configuration" > "Device-
specific settings".
Both devices are networked via the PROFIdrive Integrated_n subnet.

When a new SIMATIC Drive Controller is created, all objects are assigned a uniform instance
number (n).
