13 Setting of Inter-CPU Features

13.1 Setting to Share Handles between CNC CPU Modules

Up to three handles (also known as manual pulse generators) can be physically connected to a CNC CPU. When
multiple CNC CPU modules are mounted on a base unit, a handle connected to one CPU module can also be used by
another CPU module.
[Setting method]
(1) Make the fixed-period communication valid.
(2) Set a connection destination of each handle with the parameter.
"#1395 H1_pno" to "#1397 H3_pno" (1st to 3rd handle selection)
"#11746 H4_pno" to "#11751 H9_pno" (4th to 9th handle selection)
(3) Select an axis No. with the "n-th handle axis selection code" signal.
HS11 to HS916 (1st to 9th handle axis selection code)
(4) Turn ON the "n-th handle valid" signal.
HS1S to HS9S (1st to 9th handles valid)
(Note 1) In addition to the settings above, basic settings for handle are required, including the handle mode and the
magnification.
(Note 2) Set the parameter "#1240 set12/bit0" (Handle input pulse) individually for each CNC CPU module.
(Note 3) Apply the same specifications to the handles connected to one CNC CPU module.
(Note 4) Up to three handles can be used from 1st to 3rd handles for 3-dimensional manual feed.
[When a handle connected to one CPU module is switched to be used by another CPU module]
(Example)A handle physically connected to the 2nd CPU module is used by the 3rd CPU module

handles can be used by the 2nd CPU module.

- Set from (1) to (3) of the [Setting method] on each CNC CPU module.

- Set the signals from "1st handle valid (HS1S)" to "9th handle valid (HS9S)" for each CNC
CPU module through the PLC CPU.

- Connect more than four handles.
- Set from (1) to (4) of the [Setting method] on each CNC CPU module.
