Configuration with redundant system power supplies
Configuration with redundant system power supplies is only possible for H-CPUs which have
an active backplane bus. Due to the active backplane bus, there is only one power segment in
the configuration. A second PS doubles the supplied power in the power segment.
The redundant system power supplies must each be located on the same slot on the rails of
the H-CPUs.
Configuration example with H-CPU and infeed of the supply voltages 230 V AC L1/N and L2/N
at the redundant system power supplies PS 60 W 120/230 V AC/DC:
Figure 6-67
In the above configuration example, the H-CPU is supplied by the system power supplies.
With this configuration variant, you can supply a maximum of four CPs redundantly.
If the configuration contains five or six CPs, you need to operate the H-CPU additionally
externally via a load current supply. You can find more information in the Power segment
overview (Page 234) section.
With an external supply via a load current supply, you do not receive any diagnostics in the
event of an error.

Information about the required power is available in the Power segment overview (Page 234)
section.
You can find more information on the performance values (power feed, power consumption)
of the R/H-CPUs, the system power supply, and the CPs in the Equipment Manuals of the
respective modules.
