Description
Protection of confidential CPU configuration data
The CPUs feature an integrity protection function by default. This helps detect any manipu-
lations:
•
In the engineering data on the SIMATIC Memory Card; see also information on the integ-
rity protection of the SIMATIC Memory Card as of CPU FW version V3.1 in the next sec-
tion
•
To the engineering data during data transfer between TIA Portal and CPU
•
To the engineering data during data transfer between HMI system and CPU
•
To the synchronization data during data transfer between primary and backup CPU
•
To the encrypted firmware
Protection against unauthorized access and modifications to algorithms with password
protection
Improved management of users, roles, and CPU function rights (User Management & Access
Control, UMAC).
You can used the local user management in the editor to manage all project users along
with their rights (e.g. access rights) for project users and roles in the TIA Portal.
Protection against unauthorized configuration changes via four or five (for HF-CPU) authori-
