Configuration with communications processors

Configuration with communications processors (CPs)
The CPs relieve the R/H CPUs from communication tasks and enable further communication
connections:
• To the automation level
• To the IT world
The CPs enable the S7–1500R/H redundant system to be connected to Industrial Ethernet. By
combining different security measures such as firewall and data encryption protocols, the CPs
protect the S7-1500R/H from unauthorized access. Furthermore, the CPs protect the
communication between the S7-1500R/H and its communication partners against espionage
and manipulation.
