JOB MENU
Use this menu to configure the settings that affect the PCL
emulation.

can configure the printer from the Operator Panel.
Explanation
Use the printer's Sharp Edge
Technology to enhance the
print quality of text and grey
scale.
Use TEXT for better text
images.
Use PHOTO for better photo
images.
The TIMEOUT setting
determines the amount of time
(in seconds) the printer waits
before printing the last page of
a print job that does not end
with a command to print the
page. When a print timeout
occurs, the printer prints the
data in the print buffer.
0 = No timeout
Lighten or darken the print on
the page by changing the
DENSITY setting.
The MEDIUM setting usually
produces the best results.

Explanation
The P-TYPE setting lets you
specify the type of print
material installed in each tray.
Select PLAIN if the print
material is between 16 and
28lb.
Select THICK if the media is
thick paper over 28lb. or
envelopes over 24lb. or when
printing 90lb. index cards.
Select THIN if paper is 16 lb.
and temperature is over
90.5° F or 80% humidity.
*Select TRANSP. if you want
to print transparencies. This
choice is displayed only if
Tray1 or Tray1-M is selected as
paper source.
Select this parameter to return
to factory (default) settings.
The page counter is not reset
by this action.
This setting makes the printer
process more data by
optimizing the memory.
If the value is set to ON,
complex data can be processed
more efficiently.
This setting lets you select the
top margin of the print
material when the DUPLEX
menu item is set to SHORT.
The margin can be changed in
increments of 0.1 millimeters.
