Clearing Paper Jams

Follow these suggestions when attempting to clear paper
jams.
To avoid damage to rollers, always remove jammed
paper gently.
Try to remove jammed paper without tearing it. Any
pieces of paper left in the printer, whether large or small,
can obstruct the paper path and cause further jams.

Message
Indicates the paper has jammed as it
was being fed into the printer from
either the Multipurpose Tray or one of
the Cassette Trays. Access is through
the tray area. (See pages 94 and 95 for
information on removing this jam.)
Indicates the paper has jammed as it
was moving under the Toner
Cartridge. Access is through the Top
Cover. (See page 98 for information on
removing this jam.)
Indicates the paper has jammed after
the first side was printed. Access is
through the Back Cover. (See page 97
for information on removing this jam.)
Indicates the paper has jammed in the
Duplex Unit. Access is through
removing the Cassette Tray. (See page
96 for information on removing this
jam.)
Indicates the paper has jammed after
the first side was printed. Access is
through the Back Cover. (See page 97
for information on removing this jam.)
Explanation
note:
If, after clearing the paper jam, the jam message
on the Operator Panel persists, open and close the Top
Cover. This should clear the jam message.
