Program Name/Description
Number
Keep Alive Retry Timer
This program is used to set the
amount of times the system will
resend a Keep Alive message
when there is no response from
the other side.
If the response is not received
within the specified number of
retries, the networking link will
be taken out of service. When
the link is taken out of service
an Alarm 15 will be generated
and labeled as an Error.
An example of this alarm is:
MAJ 0015 ERR 11/07/11 14:10
NW KeepAlive -none- ID:02
MAJ = Major Alarm, this is
because the Alarm was flagged
as major.
0015 = Alarm number 15.
ERR = Error, indicating the
network link was taken out of
service.
11/07/11 = Date the Error was
generated.
14:10 = Time in 24 hour format
that the Error was generated.
NW KeepAlive = Alarm Name.
None = Field not used.
ID:02 = System ID 02 (from
PRG 10-27) was taken out of
service.
Assigned Data
1 ~ 255 = How many retries are transmitted
before the link is taken out of service
(default =5)
