The IOM#0 OUT port of the always last DE remains unused.
c. The SAS port of CE CM#1 must be connected to the IOM#1 SAS IN port of the
always last DE
d. Only if there are more than just one DE:
The IOM#1 SAS OUT port of the last DE must be connected to the IOM#1 SAS IN
port of the predecessor DE. If there are further DE's each IOM#1 must be
connected in the same way.
The IOM#1 OUT port of DE-1 remains unused.
CAUTION!
Double check the cabling. Do not continue if you are not absolutely sure that the
cabling is correct. Otherwise booting up the device could damage the existing
configuration with the result of data loss.
7. Connect a power cord to each power supply of the storage modules.
It is recommended to connect each power cord (two per module) to a
separate AC circuit in order to ensure system availability in case of a power
failure.
8. Turn on both PSU switches on the rear side of each module
9. Check if all disks are locked in their slots correctly.
10. Press the power ON/OFF button at the left side of the controller modules' front panel.
11. Wait until the READY LED of the storage base module glows green.
CAUTION!
Check all LED's at the front and rear side of each storage module. Do not
continue if any LED indicates a problem, i.e. lights up with a color other than
green. Otherwise booting up the server could damage the existing configuration
with the result of data loss.
12. Turn on the server by pressing its power ON/OFF button which is located at the right
side of its front panel.
13. Wait at least 15 minutes before starting any further actions. The integration of the
added expansion modules takes place automatically, no further actions are required.
