Table 8-4 Meanings of host parameters
Designation
Host designation
The name for the host system. Max. length: 40 characters.
Host type
The host type is the CPU to which the IM 308-C is assigned
(not applicable to S5-95U).
Power-up delay
The CPU power-up is delayed for this length of time, so that the DP master
can address all DP slaves configured with COM ET 200 Windows. Note,
however, that the time specified here is the upper limit for the delay.
When the timer times out, CPU power-up continues even if the DP master
did not succeed in addressing all the DP slaves configured with COM ET
200 Windows.
The CPU reaction depends on which error-reporting mode is selected:
Reserv. I...
These parameters enable you to reserve input and output address areas that
can then be used for central I/O modules or other IM 308-Cs in the
Reserv. O...
programmable controller.
If you use page addressing, the input and output address areas are reserved on
each page.
In this way, you can avoid the danger of having the same S5 addresses used
for distributed I/O and for I/O modules in the central or expansion units.

has failed. There is a danger of the CPU reading invalid input values
from slaves that are physically no longer present.
