SYMPTOM
Spark plug fouls repeatedly, continued.
Carburetor floods.
Starter fails to operate.
Starter/Generator does not charge
battery.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Ignition coil failed
Rings are heavily worn, low cylinder
pressure
Inlet valve or seat is leaking,
dirty, worn, or damaged
Float is damaged and filled with gasoline
Float needle valve not functioning
properly
Carburetor vent is clogged
Lockout cam is in the wrong position
Fuse is blown
Battery is dead
Starter control circuit is
not operating
Starter/generator failed
Starter solenoid failed
Key switch failed
Lockout limit switch failed
Loose or broken wire in starter/generator
circuit
Cylinder and/or crankcase flooded with
fuel
Diode failed (open condition)
Loose or broken wire in the starter/
generator circuit
Generator field coil is shorted
Brushes are worn or commutator is dirty
