purchased
prior
to
December
31,1979
(serial
prefixes
below
1948A)
were
available
by
option
and
special
option
numbers.
These have
been
replaced
with
a
new
model
number
order-
ing
system.

old
option
numbers
and
the
components
that
composed
them.

special
option
numbers
and
their
corresponding
new
model
numbers.
For calculator-based systems, the calculators and accessories are no longer available a s options
to the 5501 system, but may be ordered directly by model number. Included in this backdating
section is the Calculator Interface Electronics Checkout procedure.
Systems ordered after December 31,1979 are supplied with all necessary cables fully assembled.
Older systems required fabrication of certain cables or ordering special option cables. Included
in this backdating section are fabrication instructions for these cables.
