Displace the measurement optics in each axis a specific distance and verify that the
output devices accumulate the appropriate number of counts for the distance moved.

Interrupt the laser beam in each axis and verify the system comes up with an error
indication. Reset the system after each error indication (press STOP, cont, 5 , EXECUTE).

The
5510A
Automatic
Compensator
Display
Program
is
located
on
File
7
of
the
Diagnostic
Cassette.
This
program
will
display
the
total
velocity
of
light
compensation
number
a s
deter-
mined
by
the
Automatic
Compensator
a s
well
a s
readings
from
the
individual
environmental
sensors.
The
program
is
executed
by
inserting
the
Diagnostic
Cassette
into
the
Cassette
Reader
on
the
9825A
Calculator
and
performing
a
Idf,
7 ,
EXECUTE,
RUN.
Move
the
5510A
Automatic
Compensator
function
switch
to
the
DISPLAY
position
and
the
Sensor
Display
switch
to
the
TOTAL
COMP
position.
If
any
part
temperature
probes
are
being
used
make
sure
the
appropriate
sensor
switches
are
lighted
(TI,
T2,
T3).
The
9825A
Calculator
display
will
now
be
showing
the
total
velocity
of
light
compensation
number
in
the
following
format:
The
0.999
portion
is
hardwired,
and
the
Automatic
Compensator
computes
the
XYZT
portion
(i.e.,
0.999
7325).
This
total
compensation
number
includes
air
temperature,
humidity,
air
pressure,
and
the
part
temperature
parameters.
Turn
the
SENSOR
DISPLAY
switch
to
the
COMP
AIR
ONLY
position.
The
calculator
display
will
now
show
the
velocity
of
light
compensation
factor
for
air
temperature,
air
pressure,
and
humidity
only.
Turn
the
SENSOR
DISPLAY
switch
to
the
HUMIDITY
position.
The
number
.999XYZT
will
be
displayed,
but
is
interpreted
as:
ZT
%
Humidity
Turn the
SENSOR
DISPLAY
switch
to
the
AIR
PRESSURE
setting.
The
number
.999XYZT
will
be
displayed,
but
is
interpreted
as:
XY.ZT
inches
of
mercury
i.e.,

If
the
English/Metric
switch
