5.15 Operating Procedure for Diagnostics
To operate the diagnostics simply place the cassette into the cassette file and hit LOAD, EXE-
CUTE. Wait approximately 5 seconds for the program to be loaded in, then
hit
RUN. Then
answer the questions about each axis a s to whether resolution extension, and/or display is
required and does the system need to be reconfigured. Enter 1 and press CONTINUE for Yes
or just press CONTINUE for No. After this the 9825A Calculator takes approximately 5 seconds
to automatically load the diagnostic routine and will run the system displaying and printing
the appropriate data, depending upon how the questions were answered in the configuration
guide. While in the diagnostic routine the user may change his configuration. Table
5-5
specifies
the variables, (e.g., if you wish to go to a simultaneous sample and have been at independent
sample, hit STOP and the program stops). Type 1--1-3, EXECUTE, CONTINUE and the pro-
gram restarts and resets the displays. The system now samples simutlaneously.
NOTE
Disregard references to the foot pedal if one i s not supplied
with your system.

checkout
the
system
after
it
is running,
perform
the
following
steps:
a.
Verify
that
the
two
LED
indicators
on
the
lower
front
edge
of
each
10760A
Counter
card
are
lit.
These
LED
indicate
that
the
reference
and
measurement
signals
from
the
laser
head
and
receivers
are
present.
b.
Verify
that
the
Talk
and
Listen
lights
on
the
middle front
edge
of
the
10745A
HP-IB
Interface
card
are
alternately
lit
a s
the
program
commands
the
laser
system
to
talk
(send
data
to
calculator)
and
listen
(accept
instructions
from
calculator).
NOTE
If
the
displayed
data
counts
down
from
0
to
a
negative
number
when
the
measurement
optics
are
moved
in
a
positive
direction,
change
the
position
of
the
NORMALIREVERSE
jumper
on
the
10760A
Counter
card
(the
jumper
is
in
the
NORMAL
position
when
shipped).
