HOODED CONNECTOR WIRING PROCEDURE
Because the 48-pin hooded connectors used in the Laser Transducer System interface a wide
variety of circuit boards, the following procedure only explains how to wire a hooded connec-
tor. The individual unit cable requirements reference the applicable cabling drawings for
specific wiring. The 48-pin connector kit is furnished a s part of the individual boards and pro-
vides the required connection at the coupler (or computer) end of the interconnecting cable.

shows details of cable fabrication. The procedure for wiring the 48-pin connector is
a s follows:
a.
Insert the appropriate cables into the connector hood. See the figures referenced from
the individual boards to determine cable requirements.
b.
Strip the outer jacket of the cables back far enough to make the necessary connections.
c.
Connect individual wires of the cables to appropriate pins (see referenced drawings).
d.
Trim off any excess wire and install the 48-pin connector in the connector hood using
the two self-tapping screws.
e.
Install the cable clamp and tighten it in place with the setscrew.
