SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (Continued)
⚫ Never remove a drive when the HDD/SSD status lamp of the drive is OFF.
If you do, the data stored in the drive gets corrupted.
⚫ Wear cotton gloves when replacing a drive in order to prevent problems
caused by static electricity. If you do not, the data stored on the drive may
get corrupted.
⚫ Make sure you check the correct procedure before you start the work.
If you do not follow the correct procedure, the data stored on the drive may
be lost.
⚫ Do not use a used drive as a replacement drive, regardless of the model. Failure
to heed this instruction might result in the equipment not operating normally or the
data in the drive being lost due to inconsistent configuration information.
⚫ Mount a drive securely. Loose contact and missing screws may result in a failure.
⚫ Do not subject a drive you are mounting and the already mounted drives to shock
while replacing a drive. Otherwise, failure of the drive may result.
⚫ Until the rebuild is complete, avoid shutting off the power for this equipment or
attaching and detaching drives. Otherwise, the data on the drives may be lost or
a failure may result.
⚫ If you perform the offline drive recovery method for a drive that has been
taken offline by means other than RAS software, it might not be recoverable.
Even if it is recovered, it might not operate normally.
⚫ Do not use the offline drive recovery method for any purpose other than for
equipment evaluation. If you perform the offline drive recovery method on
equipment in practical use such as a running system, a problem such as data
loss might occur.
⚫ A drive that has been automatically taken offline by the equipment might
have failed. Therefore, do not perform the offline drive recovery method on
such a drive.
⚫ Do not use a drive for which the offline drive recovery method was executed
while it was in use on another system. Failure to heed this instruction might
result in a problem such as data loss.
