(2) Performing rebuilding while the OS is inactive
< NOTE >
・ When performing rebuilding while the OS is inactive, you need to use a " HITACHI
HJ-656x-***B/T Product Recovery DVD" as the recovery DVD. Prepare the recovery
DVD before performing the rebuild operation.
(The underlined * part depends on the equipment's model.)
1. Back up the data.
(For details, see "(2) Backing Up Files" in "4. HARD DISKS DRIVES (HDDs)" in
"PRECAUTIONS".)
2. Before you replace the failed drive, make sure that you shut down the OS, unplug
the power cord from the outlet, and wait for at least one minute.
(For details, see "6.3.6 Installing and Removing an HDD or SSD".)
3. Use the software RAID utility to perform rebuilding. For details on how to do this,
see "10.6.2 Starting and Stopping the Software RAID Utility" and "10.6.4 Rebuild
Function".
4. After the rebuild processing is complete, start up the OS and confirm that both the
drives are normal in the hardware status display window.
