[?] The following features are installed when Windows Server 2008 R2 IIS is installed by using
EXPRESSBUILDER
Windows Process Activation Service

– Process Model
– Configuration APIs
Remote Server Administration Tool

– Role Administration Tools
– Web Server (IIS) Tools
 The features listed above are activated because they are required for the installation of IIS basic
features.
[?] The Telnet Service is not installed
 Adjust the computer name to 14 characters or less, and then install the Telnet Service according to
the following procedure:
(1) Click Start, and then click Run.
(2) Type tlntsvr/service in Open, and then click OK.
(3) Click Start, point to Control Panel, click Administrative Tools, and then click Services to
[?] Unable to run "Parameter file for Windows OS"
Is the file extension (.hta) correctly associated?

 "Parameter file for Windows OS" must be run using Microsoft HTML Application host (HTA).
Follow the steps below to associate the file extension with Microsoft HTML Application host.
(1) Click Start, and then click Run.
(2) Enter %windir%\system32\mshta.exe/register.
[?] An error message is displayed at rebooting after installing the graphics accelerator driver
Is your installation Server Core of Windows Server 2012 R2?

 An application error is registered in the event viewer, but this does not affect operations.
[?] Unable to start from OS Installation Media of Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008
Is X2APIC feature of the processor disabled?

 Disable X2APIC feature of the processor using the following BIOS setting.
Advanced  Processor Configuration  X2APIC  Disabled
[?] The screen turns solid black or processing stops with 0x0000005C error while installing Windows
Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008
Is X2APIC feature of the processor disabled?

 Disable X2APIC feature of the processor using the following BIOS setting.
Advanced  Processor Configuration  X2APIC  Disabled

confirm whether the Telnet Service is registered.
* You can specify the computer name with 15 characters or more after the installation of
Telnet Service is finished.
