Notes on the Handling of Hard Disk Drives of RAID 1 Configuration
If hard disk drives configured to RAID 1 by using HostRAID are used by a CPU blade with the
HostRAID set to [disable], the data stored in the hard disk drives will be damaged.
Take sufficient note when hard disk drives configured to RAID 1 by HostRAID are connected to
another CPU blade.
If it is necessary to make sure that HDDs are subject to the RAID 1 configuration, follow the
procedure below:
1.
If the message [Press <CTRL><A> for SCSISelect(TM) Utility!] appears on the screen at
the boot or reboot of the system, press Ctrl and A simultaneously.
2.
Select the channel [AIC-7901 at slot 00 03:03:00] on the Device menu appearing after the
start of the utility and press Enter.
The required job varies depending on the condition of the displayed screen.
<When the Options menu does not include the [Configure/View HostRAID Settings]
menu>:
The HostRAID feature is activated. Select [Configure/View SCSIController Settings] in
the Options menu and press Enter. Then go to step 3.
<When the Options menu includes the [Configure/View HostRAID Settings] menu>:
Go to step 7.
3.
Select [HostRAID] and press Enter.
4.
Select [Enabled] and press Enter.
5.
After pressing Esc to display the screen for confirming the storage of the settings, select
[Yes] and press Enter.
6.
Press Esc to return to the Options menu.
7.
Select [Configure/View HostRAID] and press Enter.
