Remove and Replace the Fan Assembly

The fan assembly is comprised of two fans, the fan bracket, and four fan mounts. The two fans provide
all the cooling air necessary for the projector.
1. Remove the following items:
Outer handle (see page 41)
Rear bezel (see page 51)
Top case (see page 57)
2. Unplug the left IR receiver cable from connector J508 and the fan cables from connectors J506
and J517 on the controller ECA.
3. Lift the fan bracket from the bottom case.
4. Separate either fan from the fan bracket by removing the two M3x25 Phillips screws from the
diagonal corners of the fan frame.
NOTE You don't need to separate either fan from the fan bracket if you're removing the fan
assembly to gain access to other FRUs in the projector.
5. Flex the fan bracket slightly to disengage one of the fan mounts from its retainer.
