4.3 Crane applications
Deleting the library
If you no longer need the SIMOCRANE ESSM library, you can delete it. To do this, proceed as
follows:
1. In the "Libraries" task card, click the "Global libraries" palette and select the library you wish
to delete.
2. Select the "Delete" command from the shortcut menu.
3. Respond "Yes" to the confirmation prompt.

The SIMOCRANE ESSM library is removed from the "Global libraries" palette. The entire library
directory is deleted from the file system. You can then delete the "zal17" file manually.

Crane applications

The following preconditions must be fulfilled by the crane system in order to connect an energy
storage system with SIMOCRANE ESSM:
• Use of a crane PLC with PROFINET
• A controlled SINAMICS 120 ALM infeed on the DC link for "Peak Shaving" mode
• On-board converter for generating the auxiliary power supply in "Black Start" mode
• Optional: Braking resistors, depending on the crane application
