Control and engineering
6.2 Control via remote PLC
Shutting down the SINAMICS DCPs
The SINAMICS DCPs are shut down by the SIMOCRANE ESSM. Depending on the request, one
of three shutdown strategies is selected:
• Shutdown routine 1 (controlled shutdown)
Shutdown routine 1 shuts down the SINAMICS DCPs with the command "Off 2". This results
in opening of the bypass contactors of the SINAMICS DCPs. The state of the bypass contactors
is evaluated and subjected to a plausibility check.
Shutdown routine 1 can be requested via the telegram interface.
If SIMOCRANE ESSM detects a fault state during shutdown routine 1, a fault message is issued
and shutdown routine 3 is triggered as a response.
• Shutdown routine 2 (shutdown with fault)
Shutdown routine 2 shuts down the SINAMICS DCPs with the command "Off 2". This results
in opening of the bypass contactors of the SINAMICS DCPs. The state of the bypass contactors
is evaluated and subjected to a plausibility check.
Shutdown routine 2 is a response to internally selected faults (see fault descriptions in the
section Faults (Page 114)).
After shutdown routine 2, it is only possible to perform an acknowledgement if the switching
states of the contactors are plausible and these are signaling "Open".
If SIMOCRANE ESSM detects a fault state during shutdown routine 2, a fault message is issued
and shutdown routine 3 is triggered as a response.
• Shutdown routine 3 (shutdown with fault and request for opening of the main breaker)
Shutdown routine 3 shuts down the SINAMICS DCPs with the command "Off 2". This results
in opening of the bypass contactors of the SINAMICS DCPs. The state of the bypass contactors
is evaluated and subjected to a plausibility check.
The "UVRelease3WL" bit (outSendToMaster.StatusWord2, bit 10) is reset to "False" in the
telegram interface.
After shutdown routine 3, it is only possible to perform an acknowledgement if the switching
states of the contactors are plausible and these are signaling "Open".
Shutdown routine 3 can be triggered via the telegram interface and the "NoCAT0Stop" input.
Shutdown routine 3 is also a response to internally selected faults (see fault descriptions in
the section Faults (Page 114)).
6.2.4

Manual charging/discharging

When the system is operating in "Manual" mode, the control commands "Charge" and
"Discharge" can be used to initiate manual charging or discharging of the battery with a defined
charge or discharge power.
This process continues for as long as the "Charge"/"Discharge" bit is set. If neither the charge
nor the discharge command is active, SIMOCRANE ESSM remains in "Standby"/"Idle" mode for
energy efficiency reasons.
The upper and lower limits for the "State of Charge" are applied and cannot be violated
during manual charging/discharging. See also the function "Dynamic SOC limitation" in the
section Functions (Page 23) for further details.
The required power setpoint is set by means of the parameters "ChargePowerSet" and
"DischargePowerSet". See also section Power limiting (Page 83) for further details.
