GS4000 Installation Guide Revision 4.00
(3) Considerations When Powering a Distribution Panel
The current capacity of a distribution panel must be greater than that of the operating current
fed to the circuit breaker. (See Table 2.4-3 in the section (2) Distribution Panel.)
*
Also, an inrush of electrical current (See Table 2.4-4) occurs after the device is powered up. Be
prepared well so that the voltage of a power supply facility is not decreased due to the inrush
of electrical current.

WARNING: THE CURRENT CAPACITY OF A DISTRIBUTION PANEL MUST BE GREATER
THAN THAT OF THE OPERATING CURRENT FED TO THE CIRCUIT BREAKER. IF
NOT, THE CIRCUIT BREAKER MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY WHEN A CIRCUIT
ABNORMALITY IS DETECTED. THIS CONDITION COULD
CAUSE A FIRE.
NOTE:
In general, the operating current fed to a circuit breaker is set to be greater than
the rated current. Check the specification of your circuit breaker before using it.
Inrush Current
Caution: Once the device is powered up, an inrush of electrical current occurs. Do not
operate this device during a reduced voltage condition (brownout). Similarly,
do not allow the voltage of a power facility under your control to decrease. A
brownout condition also affects the other equipment besides the GS4000 if
connected to the same power facility.
NOTE: The values related to inrush current you see in the table above are for the cases
of using single power supply.
