(3) Attachment of a Network Interface
Comply with the following procedure when installing a High Port-Density NIF.

NOTE: This is the procedure for installing a network interface board into the packet
switching unit which does not have a guide rail installed. In order to install a high
port-density NIF into the packet switching unit, the guide rail should already be
removed. For details, see the section 5.7.4 Installing/Removing of the Guide Rail.
Open the levers of the network interface board as shown in the figure below,

Caution: When installing a Packet Switching Unit into the device, open its levers as
shown in the figure above. If you try to install it with its levers shut or open
too wide, its levers might be damaged when being inserted into the slot.
