INSTALLATION SPACE

The GS4000 can be installed on a table or mounted in a 19-inch rack (cabinet rack).
(1) Installation on a Desk or Table
Install the device on a flat and stable surface. Also, consider the following requirements when
setting the device on a table.

Cooling condition
Reserve at least 70 mm of space from the ventilation slots of each device to ensure proper air flow
through the ventilation slots. (For details, see the section 2.10 Cooling Considerations.)
Space for placing
Reserve 100mm of space in front of and behind the device for placing cables.

Noise of the device
Regarding the noise, see the section 2.11 Device Noise.
(2) Installation in a 19-Inch Rack
The GS4000 can be mounted in the racks complying with the standard indicated in Table 2.8-
2.

Use either of the following racks;
19-inch cabinet rack complying with EIA standard
Cooling conditions
Use a rack which allows you to secure at least 70mm of space between the pillars/side panels of a
rack and the ventilation slots of the device.

Space for placing
Reserve 100mm of space in front of and behind the device for placing cables.

Should be sustainable to the weight of a device (See Table 2.2-1.)
Guide rails provided
Should not interfere with the rubber feet attached to the underside of a device (width: 45mm or
with a rack
less) (See Figure 2.8-1.)
Should be installable in the position shown in the section 4.4, "Mounting the GS4000 in a Rack."
Rack compliant with the EIA standard: M5 or M6 screws should be used.

Requirements for Setting the Device on a Table
WARNING: WHEN INSTALLING THE GS4000 OR GS4000 ON A DESK, LAY IT DOWN
HORIZONTALLY IN IT'S NORMAL ORIENTATION. IF YOU STAND IT VERTICALLY
OR LEAN IT AGAINST A WALL, IT COULD FALL AND BE DAMAGED AND
POTENTIALLY CAUSE INJURY.
