(2)Attachment of a Network Interface Device
Comply with the following procedure when installing a Standard NIF.

Step 1
Open the levers of the NIF as shown in the figure below, and insert it into the slot.
Do this by holding its side panels.

NOTE: This section descibes the procedure for installing a network interface board into
the packet switching unit with the guide rail installed. In order to install a standard
NIF into the packet switching unit, the guide rail should be installed beforehand.
For details, see the section 5.7.4 Installing/Removing of the Guide Rail.
