About This Chapter
Before using the terminal, ensure that the terminal is properly connected to the input and output
devices, such as a camera and a display. This chapter describes how to connect the terminal to
these devices.
Video devices include video input devices, such as a camera, DVD player, and computer, and
video output devices, such as displays used to output the user interface and videos. One of the
commonly used displays is a TV. To achieve HD video quality, the preceding devices need to
have the capability of 720p, H.264 4CIF, or above.
3.1 Connecting a Camera
The terminal supports various camera models, such as SONY EVI-HD1, CANON V50,
ViewPoint C500 HD camera (C500 for short), HUAWEI VPC500 HD camera (VPC500 for
short), and HUAWEI VPC520 HD camera (VPC520 for short), HUAWEI VPC500S HD camera
(VPC500S for short), and HUAWEI VPC500E HD camera (VPC500E for short). After a camera
is connected to the terminal, it can be controlled using the COM interface of the terminal.
3.2 Setting Camera Parameters
The terminal can display video captured by the camera properly only after the camera parameters
are set correctly.
3.3 Selecting and Controlling a Camera
If you have connected multiple video devices to the video input interfaces, you must select local
and remote video sources from the connected devices.
3.4 Saving and Using Camera Presets
A camera preset is a set of camera settings that have been saved in advance. You can set these
presets in advance.
3.5 Connecting a Display
When connecting displays to the terminal, choose cables based on the relevant interfaces.
3.6 Setting Video Output Parameters
After connecting cables, the video output parameters need to be set to achieve the desired video
quality.
