The method of holding conferences using cascaded built-in MCUs can be applied to different
application scenarios. The operation methods, however, are similar. The following takes one
application scenario as an example to describe how to use cascaded MCUs to hold a conference.
Procedure
Step 1 Use the built-in MCU of terminal A to initiate a conference.
Step 2 Use the built-in MCU of terminal B to initiate another conference.
Step 3 Place a call from terminal A to terminal B to cascade the conferences.

5.1.8 Communicating with Microsoft Lync

The terminal can call Microsoft Lync clients and view their online status.
Huawei videoconferencing systems can be used in the Microsoft Unified Communications
(MSUC) environment. Register the terminal (networked with MSUC) with a Lync server using
SIP. After that, the terminal can place calls to Lync clients, receive calls from Lync clients, and
view Lync clients' online status.

Issue 09 (2012-09-03)
videoconferencing system (for example, a ViewPoint 8660 MCU) are cascaded, the built-
in MCU is the slave MCU.
Only the terminal with the master built-in MCU can control remote cameras.
From the terminal with the master built-in MCU, all conference control operations are
available. For details about the conference control operations available to a terminal whose
built-in MCU is being used, see section
From a terminal with the slave built-in MCU or terminals using the slave built-in MCU,
no conference control operation is available.
During a conference held using cascaded built-in MCUs, presentations can only be shared
in Presentation mode.
The terminal and Lync clients can place calls to each other.
– During a point-to-point call, switching between audio-only and video calls is available
on both the terminal and Lync client. For details, see
only and Video
Calls.
– The terminal supports call forwarding on Lync clients. For example, if calls to Lync A
has been set to be forwarded to Lync B, then after a call between Lync A and terminal
C is set up, terminal C automatically disconnects from Lync A and calls Lync B.
From Address Book on the terminal, you can view Lync clients' online status.
