Removing a Sample Tube from the Robot Gripper

BIOHAZARD
Wear personal protective equipment. Use universal precautions. Refer to
Appendix A, Safety Information for recommended precautions when
working with biohazardous materials.
If the robot does not release a sample tube, you can use the robot gripper
release to remove the sample tube.
If you need to lift the robot arm to reach the sample tube, refer to Lifting
the Robot from the Hettich Unit , page 72 and Using the Z-up Feature to
Raise the Robot, page 74.
To remove the sample tube, perform these steps:
1. Press the E-stop button.
2. Open the robot enclosure door.
WARNING
Do not press the gripper release while holding the sides of the sample
tube. Holding the sample tube too close to the gripper can cause bodily
harm. Always hold the bottom of the sample tube.
3. Hold the sample tube below the gripper fingers.
