5.2 Installation
No.
14 Tighten the lock nuts with a torque of 550 Nm
15 Mark the position of the nuts
16 Seal the openings from the base area to the mounting plate with a suitable sealant to prevent the
ingress of moisture, animals and insects
17 Remove the sling from the SICHARGE UC MastHood
Raising the boom
No.
1 Attach the approved sling to the end of the boom, near the contact hood
2 Carefully tension the sling
3 Remove the transport lock between the mast and boom
4 Fold the boom into a horizontal position until the connecting surfaces of the mast and the boom
lie on top of each other
Screw down the boom
No.
1 Fit the 3 free holes with the M16 x 60 screws and self-locking nuts
2 Remove the screws of the hinge
3 Remove the hinge
4 Fit the 2 holes of the hinge with the M16 x 90 screws and self-locking nuts
5 Tighten the 5 screws with a torque of 215 Nm
6 Repeat steps 1 - 5 on the other side of the boom
Optional - Setting the contact hood (Testing with a bus)
Note
The following steps must be tested with a bus to see if adjustment of the MastHood is
necessary. Mostly adjustment is not needed.

1 Loosen the 4 locking screws of the eccentric bushes
2 Align the contact hood with the 4 eccentric bushes parallel to the roadway
3 Tighten the locking screws with a tightening torque of 75 Nm
