Utilities Provided by EXPRESSBUILDER

The following utilities can be started when you choose Utilities from Home Menu (described in Chapter 2 (5.2
Menus of EXPRESSBUILDER) - (2) Home Menu):
(1) Starter Pack installation (only on Internal Flash Memory)
Installs Starter Pack to the installed Windows. This feature is only supported when using Internal Flash
Memory.Starter Pack is usually installed from Autorun menu.
(2) RAID configuration data
Saves or restores the configuration data on a RAID controller.
You can save the data to Internal Flash Memory when Internal Flash Memory is installed.
(3) File execution
Directly runs an external utility on removable media. Use this feature only for utilities provided by NEC.
(4) Internal Flash Memory (only on disc)
Internal Flash Memory can be managed the following features.
a) Check the status of Inernal Flash Memory
Checks if Internal Flash Memory is installed and accessible. POST message is changed depending
on the result of this command. When Internal Flash Memory is detected, the commands (4)-b) and
(4)-c) below can be executed.

b) Initialize Internal Flash Memory
Clears the data in Internal Flash Memory and initializes (formats) it.Be careful that all data in Internal
Flash Memory is deleted.
c) Update Internal Flash Memory
Copies EXPRESSBUILDER data from EXPRESSBUILDER disc or other media provided by NEC to
Internal Flash Memory. The data is overwritten and all previous data is cleared.
Tips
Starter Pack is automatically installed when Windows is installed by EXPRESSBUILDER.
Note
Do not run the file provided the third party.
EXPERSSBUILDER can be started by pressing <F3> key (<F3> Internal
Flash Memory is displayed on the screen).
EXPERSSBUILDER cannot be started by pressing <F3> key (<F3> Internal
Flash Memory is not displayed on the screen).
Tips
The parameter file and RAID configuration data are retained.
