Troubleshooting

If this system does not operate as intended, check it according to the contents of the following checklist before
sending it for repair. If an item in the checklist corresponds with a problem you are experiencing, follow the
subsequent check and processing instructions.
If the system still does not operate normally, write down the messages displayed on the screen and then
contact your sales representative.

Upon Power On to the End of POST

Fail to power on the server
Is the server properly supplied with power?
Check if the power cord connects to the power outlet (or UPS) that meets the power
specifications for Blade Enclosure.
Use the power cord that comes with Blade Enclosure. Additionally, check the power cord for
broken shield or bent plugs.
Make sure the power breaker for the connected power outlet is on.
If the power cord is plugged to a UPS, make sure the UPS is powered and it outputs power.
Refer to the manual that comes with the UPS for details.
Make sure that the CPU blade is installed correctly. The CPU blade BIOS SETUP utility allows
you to set the feature for power link with the UPS.

Does Blade Enclosure contain the required number of power units?
Refer to User's Guide of Blade Enclosure for the required number of power units.
Has the EM card been initialized?
If the EM card is not initialized, the power unit does not supply the power to the CPU blade.
Does Blade Enclosure contain the required number of fans in proper location?
Refer to the User's Guide of Blade Enclosure for the required number of fans and their
installation locations.
When installed mezzanine card (Type1, Type2) on CPU blade, please be careful about below.
When a right switch module isn't mounted on the switch module slot of blade enclosure, an
error message is shown to the SIGMABLADE monitor of blade enclosure.

The CPU blade which was mounted on an indicated slot can't power on in that case. Check
connection between the relevant switch module and the CPU blades to make sure the
coincidence of interface.
