Console-less feature

Off-line Tools can be remotely controlled from "PC for Management" without a keyboard or other consoles.
9.3.1

How to remotely control

Control from a LAN connected PC for Management using the remote KVM of EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3.
For details of the remote KVM, see EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 User's Guide in EXPRESSBUILDER.
You can also control Off-line Tools remotely by using BIOS Console Redirection.

Preparation

Set the remote management feature of EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 in advance to check hardware error
information during console-less operation.
For settings information, see EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 User's Guide or NEC ESMPRO Manager online
help.
Note
• Connect the LAN cable to the connector on management LAN port.
If Shared BMC LAN feature is used, connect the LAN cable to the corresponding LAN
connector.
• To use the remote KVM, Remote Management Extension License (N8115-04) is
mandatory.
Tips
In console redirection connection, if the corrupted text is displayed on terminal screen,
change font type (character code) appropriate to your environment.
