3-4-1 Operation method using external control device

To control the laser welding machine VL-W1-N series with the external control device, the following connecting methods
are applicable:
External control using I/O : Remote mode operation
Controls the laser welding machine from external devices such as PLC using various I/O signals loaded into the laser
welding machine.
For details, refer to "4 External Control Using I/O" (P.82).
External control by serial communication commands (RS-232C) : Remote mode operation
Use the RS-232C interface for controlling the laser welding machine from an external device such as PLC using
communication commands.
For details, refer to "5 External Control by Communication Commands" (P.122) and "Serial Communication Command
Guide".
• It is available to the external control combining I/O, and serial communication commands.
• To input lasing trigger with I/O and configure other settings with a screen operation manually, use Run mode. For details,
refer to "3-3-4 Test lasing and Run mode operation" (P.74).
• For the communication details to monitor the laser power at lasing, refer to "6 Laser Power Monitoring Function" (P.126).
