9.8 Disabling RAID Boot Options

When the 5288 V3 is equipped with dual RAID controller cards, to avoid a failure to display
the boot option for installing the OS due to insufficient BIOS space, you are advised to
disable the other RAID boot options.
When multiple boot options are configured for a server, the system may fail to display all the
boot options due to limited space of the BIOS Option ROM. To avoid the failure to display
the boot option for installing the OS, disable the other boot options.
The 5288 V3 supports the following configurations with dual RAID controller cards:

The RAID controller card boot options are enabled by default. To configure the system to
boot from a RAID controller card, you need to disable the other RAID boot options. For
example, to configure the system to boot from the LSI SAS3108 controller card on the
mainboard, disable the boot options for the standard LSI SAS3108 controller card in a PCIe
slot and SoftRAID.
This topic describes how to disable the boot options for the LSI SAS3108 controller card on
the mainboard, standard LSI SAS3108 controller card in a PCIe slot, SoftRAID, LSI
SAS3008 controller card on the mainboard, and standard LSI SAS3008 controller card in a
PCIe slot.
