3.2 Installation Environment

To ensure the proper installation and operating of the RH2288 V3, prepare the installation
environment before installation. The installation environment includes the cabinet, space,
temperature, and humidity. When installing the server, select a location that meets the
environmental standards described in this section.

3.2.1 Space and Airflow Requirements

To allow for servicing and adequate airflow, observe the following space and airflow
requirements:

The server draws in cool air from the front of the cabinet and exhausts hot air from the rear.
Therefore, the front and rear of the cabinet must be well ventilated for optimal heat
dissipation.

Install the 5288 V3 in an access-restricted area.
Keep the area in which the server is located clean and tidy.
For easy heat dissipation and maintenance, keep a clearance of 800 mm (31.50 in.)
between walls and the front and rear doors of the cabinet.
Do not block the air intake vents. Otherwise, air intaking and heat dissipation will be
affected.
Ensure that the air conditioning system in the equipment provides enough wind to ensure
proper heat dissipation of all components.
Figure 3-2 shows the direction of heat dissipation.
