Probable Cause and Remedy
1) KVL 3000 has not been pro
grammed with an MDC ID
1) Navigate to ID in the CONFIG
menu, then enter the proper MDC ID
1) PCMCIA modem could not be
initiated when attempting a dial up
connection
1) Make sure modem is compat
ible (e.g., single function PCMCIA
only)
1) KVL 3000 has not been pro
grammed with the KMC's dial up
phone number
1) Navigate to KMC in the MAIN
menu, then select MODEM and en
ter the KMC's dial up phone number
1) KMC's dial up phone line is
busy
1) Attempt the modem connection
after waiting for a few minutes
1) Download request was denied
by KMC
1) Make sure that particular
KVL 3000 has been set up properly
with the KMC (consult KMC opera
tor)
1) Download was started and then
interrupted (possibly by phone line
or modem drop out)
1) Reestablish the connection and
retry the download
1) Encryption IC in KVL 3000 is not
programmed properly
