Note If the KVL 3000 is
purchased without the
ASTRO 25option,theunit
will always power up in
ASN mode.
Chapter 2 Preparing the KVL 3000 for Use
Once the main battery is fully charged and
attached to the KVL 3000, press the Pwr button
to turn the unit on. The following will happen:
D All status indicator icons will display,
D SELF TEST will appear. This indicates
that the KVL 3000 is performing an inter
nal self test routine to ensure that the unit
is operating properly.
D The Main Menu screen for ASTRO 25 op
eration will appear (shown below). The
KVL 3000 is now ready for use.
Note The KVL 3000 is shipped from the
factory to power up in ASTRO 25 mode.
You may switch to ASN mode as de
scribed in Chapter 2 Switching Between
ASN / ASTRO 25 behind the MIGRATION
tab. The mode in which your KVL 3000 is
operating when powering off determines
the mode in which it will operate when ap
plying power. For example, if the
KVL 3000 is in ASTRO 25 mode when
powering off, the KVL 3000 will power up
in ASTRO 25 mode when the unit is turned
back on.
