Dial Pulse (DP) and Dual Tone Multifrequency (MF)

5.3.1

Dial Pulse (DP) Telephone

Analog telephones, wireless telephones, fax machines and any device that uses pulse dialing.
Procedures for using these types of telephones are outlines following the symbol"DP".
5.3.2

Dual Tone Multifrequency Telephone (MF)

Analog telephones, wireless telephones, fax machines and any equipment that uses touch-
tone dialing. This dialing mode is recognized by the dual-tone it generates, which can be heard
by the caller on the handset as the numbers are dialed. Procedures for using these types of
telephones are outlined following the symbol "DTMF".

Instructions for "Flash" feature valid only for a DTMF telephones. If you have a
touch-tone telephone (MF) that does not feature a "Flash" key, placing the phone on-
hook and off-hook momentarily will simulate the action of the Flash key.
