Safe Speed Monitor (SSM)

Definition according to EN 61800-5-2:
"The SSM function supplies a safe
output signal to indicate whether the
motor speed is below a specified limit
value."
Note
SSM is a pure signaling function
Contrary to other Safety Integrated functions, a violation of the SSM limit does not result in a
drive-based stop response.
Example of how the function can be used
Example
A centrifuge may only be filled below a velocity
defined by the user.

Possible solution
SSM is activated by configuring the Safety
Integrated Extended Functions.
The converter safely monitors the centrifuge
speed and enables the process to advance
to the next step using the "Status SSM" sta-
tus bit.
