4.4 Edge Detection

4.4.1 Overview of Edge Detection

In a binarized image, the unit detects an edge in the inspection area. When the edge in the same direction as
the base edge saved in TEACHING mode and the edges within the base destance +/- allowable limit are
detected, it is judged as OK and OUT1 is turned ON.
Conditions under which edges are detected
The unit scans within the inspection area from up to down (in the Y direction) and from left to right (in the X
direction) and detects a point changing "from white to black" or "from black to white". If you could detect an
edge, changing points in whole scanning lines either in Y or X direction. Therefore, the unit cannot detect
any edge in some scanning lines in the following images and judges as NG.

The examples of detectable edges are shown as follows. The "detection distance of edges" is the data that
the averaged position of the changing point detected in whole scanning lines was converted into distance.
