Calibrate probe - radius on edge (CYCLE976)

Function
With this measuring version, a workpiece probe can be calibrated in an axis and direction
selected by the user, at a reference surface perpendicular to this. This can be done, for
example, on a workpiece.
If two calibration directions are selected for an axis (calibrating in the groove), then for this
axis, the positional deviation can be calculated (probe skew).
Measuring principle
The probe approaches the reference surface in the selected axis and direction. If the 2
calibration directions version was selected, initially, the axis moves in the positive axis
direction.
The determined parameters, trigger point, positional deviation and probe ball radius are
transferred into the addressed calibration data fields.

calibration direction
Preconditions
● The probe must be active as tool.
● Tool type of the probe:
Starting position before the measurement
The probe is positioned in the measuring height, approximately at the distance of the
measurement path (DFA) opposite to the edge.
Position after the end of the measuring cycle
The probe ball center is located in front of the reference edge by the distance of the
measuring path.

– 3D multi probe (type 710)
