7.3 Restoring the System Drive Back to the Factory-Shipped Condition

7.3.1 Procedure for restoring the system drive back to the factory-shipped condition

Follow the steps below to restore the system drive of the HF-W100E to the factory-shipped
condition using the recovery DVD.
(Note) Depending on the model of the device you purchased, the design and font of the
displayed screen may differ.
1. Turn on the power to the computer, and insert a recovery DVD "HITACHI HJ-100E-****
Product Recovery DVD" to the DVD drive. If the number of recovery DVDs is multiple,
insert a first disc (For example, in the case of two-disc sets, insert the disc number : 1/2).
(Note) In the underlined part, the model of the equipment you purchased is listed. For
parts that are similarly described in the subsequent procedures, please change to
the type of equipment you purchased.
2. When you boot from the recovery DVD, the confirmation message is displayed.
(Note) If you cannot boot from the recovery DVD, turn off the computer, and then turn it
back on.
